Our night at the Nursing Home

This month for our Primary activity we planned a service project. Saturday afternoon we got the entire primary to come to the church and make Christmas decorations to use in a local nursing home. Sally and I met with the activities coordinator for the nursing home ahead of time and they were so ecstatic to have us come. They wanted us to bring all 70 children to the home! We kindly declined that invitation and just took the Faith in God girls and the younger scout boys to come and help decorate. So, Tuesday night we went to the home with bags of paper snowflakes and paper chains to put up all over their common area. We sang some Christmas carols to the medical floor and the Alzheimer's unit. It was so much fun. The kids enjoyed it and the residents loved having all the kids running around. Here are some pictures of that night.
Here is the decorating crew.
They got a little carried away and started decorating this sweet woman's chair. (with permission of course) Well, next thing you know we look over and she has some garland taped to her forehead! She was laughing and really enjoying herself.
The kids were so great and well behaved. I was really proud of them! The final product!
This is our Christmas tree that we made out of all of the hand prints from the Primary Children. We thought it looked just as good as the real tree in front of it. :-)
