Phantom of the Opera Debate

So, I had to share my experience with the girls and their fight that they had the other day. I was home sick from church and whenever I am feeling sick I like to cuddle up on the couch and watch musicals. Well, I chose to watch Phantom of the Opera and Brian and the kids came home shortly after I started it so the girls caught quite a bit of the storyline. I didnt even realize how much they were paying attention until the fight broke out about whether she should choose the Phantom or the "Prince" aka Raul. Alaina was pro-Phantom and Aislyn loved the Prince. Aislyn was saying that the Phantom was mean and the Prince was cute. Alaina then responded with, "Yeah, well the Prince has girl hair!" In the end, as we all know, the Phantom was left alone and Alaina was not a happy camper. I was cuddling with her and telling her that it was just a movie and that everything is ok when she said, "When I grow up, I am going to marry a man with half his face burnt off just like the Phantom" So, my apologies in advance to my future son in law. Hopefully we can find you a good plastic surgeon. It is always so fun to see the different personalities in your kids. Alaina has always been so sensitive and empathetic. It really broke her heart that Christine did not choose the Phantom and that everyone was scared of him because of his face. Aislyn, of course, very much enjoyed rubbing it in that the Prince was the winner.

Cars, cars everywhere!

My little man is cracking me up lately with his cars. Everywhere I look he has them lined up in a straight line, all facing the same way and even has sound effects for when he parks them. It goes something like this.....VROOM VROOM ERRRRRRT! The squealing of the brakes lasts a long time and apparently when Brian asked him about the sounds he responded with something about moms driving. Oh yeah, and by the way Brian is a big fat liar and I wouldn't put much stock into that claim. ;-)
We have to tuck in the cars every night before bed. The girls did not like sharing their doll house with Dawsons cars. He thought it was the perfect garage! I just love this kid! I dont love when he decides that my shoe shelves are his new garage though...

Trouble on the Farm

Can you tell what this is? Yup, thats right, its an ear! My poor goat "Minnow" got in the way of the dogs food when they were out and "Belle" (the dog) tried to pull him away, BY HIS EAR! The ear of course came off with that kind of force and now we have a one eared goat. It was a bit traumatic for us all, but Minnow is doing fine and the goats are not allowed anywhere near the dogs when they are eating! Life on the farm I guess :-)

Meet Blackjack

Grandma and Papa recently aquired a pony from Jason and Mandi across the street. We have been trying to get over there on a regular basis and ride him to get him used to the kids. He is doing pretty well. The kids love riding him and have even figured out how to do a slow trot around the round pen.

Cruisin with the Chicks

Dawson was giving his cousin Emmy some driving lessons. She of course was the stereotypical "woman" driver and he took back the wheel very quickly. They had a ton of fun driving around at Grandma and Papa's. I would give her a few years before you buy her any wheels Jared and Shauna. :-)
